failure economically hurts everybody. the degree to which he is piling up debt, which is absorbing tax money that could have gone to school, health care, now it will pay interest on the debt, that hurts everybody. in many way, it is almost sad to look at the speech and realize the degree to which he has failed to achieve any of the goals he implied were his goals in 2007. >> greta: he did say he was going to get health care. that, he did do, whether you like it or not. but one thing, you speak about the debt, what he said -- and he was rather sarcastic about politicians in this speech. what he said, in part, don't worry about trillions of dollars in debt, someone else will pay. he was being sarcastic about politician who is have no concern about the debt. now, you fast-forward to now, in the last 3 years, $1.3 trillion and nobody -- he is want working on t. capital hill is not working on t. we are return running up the debt. we have no idea with sequesterations and the tax cuts. this is what he promised in 2007 as a candidate. he thought it was important then? >> i look -- i think this

source saying governor romney didn't pay taxes. intelligencit was the most biza. he's a lawyer. nothing like that would be permitted in court. today he goes after him on religious grounds. he's also mormon himself. >> harry reid is a vicious machine politician. go back and look at his election, re-election. his approach to politics is to destroy his opponent, to say whatever he has to say, to have total disregard of the truth. all he's interested in is raw power. he's one of the reasons the senate is a sick institution. >> bill: and we have no budget, because he's pocket -- he's the one who stops us from having a debate over a budget. >> yep. >> greta: president obama in the next couple weeks, i guess that he's going to try to just avoid gaffes, and he coffees, right? is that sort of the strategy? >> they may decide to attack. i noticed in the last couple days, one of the challenges when obama gets ahead, he gets very arrogant and starts doing things that are self-destructive. interesting to see -- in some ways he might be better off to coast. the debate will be a big deal for him, too.

. >> that moment helped change the campaign. >> some o some of them you can . >> read my lips. no new taxes. >> the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull, lipstick. >> other ones, you got to depend on your candidate seizing a moment you didn't expect to happen. >> there you go again. >> most moments so far this election have been poorly phrased comments. >> if you've got a business, you didn't build that. somebody else made that happen. >> i like being able to fire people that provide services to me. >> they'll put y'all back in chains. >> the media call those gaffes, but often the media don't know. when ed musky lost the '072 primary because he looked like he teared up defending his wife, everyone said candidates can't career, because that's week, but then in 2008 hillary clinton cried. >> you know, i have so many opportunities from this country. >> she began to tear up. >> don't want to fall backwards. >> she showed being human. >> you know, this is very personal for me. >> pundits pounced. >> people perceive that as weakness. >> yeah, i think they will and they should. >> makes

to foot the tax bill and never get a say in it. >> more sadly to me is the fact that the president goes on tv the other day and says, well, the debt and the deficit in the country, now, that's a problem in the long term, but it's not a short-term problem. the truth the average american understands the truth. the american government can't spend itself rich just like the american family want spend itself rich. if just the debt is a long-term problem, if you wait till the long term, the kinds of changes you'll have to make, the kind of cuts, the kind of cracking-down are unbelievable by the standards that if we deal with this today it is not that big a deal. >> greta: governor, they're not even working on it. i mean, nothing is being done by anybody to work on it. absolutely zero. >> in all fairness, nothing has been done by barack obama. i mean, barack obama hasn't introduced a budget in three years that a democrat would vote for, but paul ryan has. >> greta: if i were a republican right now, i'd be here in washington, saying where's the president? >> but paul ryan has produced budgets, a
